Understanding hyperpigmentation and its appearance
Hyperpigmentation is a complex phenomenon that depends on many factors. First of all, the sun plays a major role. Indeed, exposure to UV rays stimulates the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin coloring. This overproduction can cause the appearance of brown spots.
Furthermore, skin aging can also lead to hyperpigmentation. With age, melanin production can become disrupted and cause age spots.
Certain medical conditions such as acne can also leave pigment marks and scars. Finally, hormonal changes during pregnancy can lead to pregnancy mask, a form of hyperpigmentation.
These spots can affect all skin types and phototypes (complexions).
To treat them, many active ingredients have proven their effectiveness. For example, vitamin C, niacinamide, AHAs and retinol (also excellent anti-aging and anti-acne) inhibit melanin production, helping to reduce hyperpigmentation.
Choosing the right natural anti-pigment spot treatment: serum, organic face cream and other products
To choose the right natural and organic anti-pigment spot treatment, you must take several criteria into account.
It is first important to take into account your skin type. In fact, the drier your skin, the more you will want to turn to rich facial treatments, while if you have oilier skin, you will prefer beauty products with lighter textures.
Another criterion is the concentration of assets. A treatment with 15% vitamin C will not have the same effects as a treatment with 5% vitamin C, just as your skin will not react in the same way to a treatment formulated with 10% AHA, which 'to a treatment based on 20% AHA. But then, how to choose the concentration of anti-spot active ingredients in your serum, cream or even mask? A beauty rule to know: a high concentration of active ingredients does not always mean better effectiveness. Indeed, each skin has a very specific and unique tolerance threshold. So start with low concentrations, then increase gradually only if you feel the need, and you think your skin can tolerate it well. The slightest irritation may mean that you have exceeded your skin's tolerance threshold, so take a break from this active ingredient for 2 to 3 weeks then resume it in a gentle version. Notice to sensitive skin, always stick to low concentrations, they are just as effective!
Now that you know which product, active ingredients and concentration you are turning to, here is our final advice: do not accumulate too many anti-spot active ingredients in your routine, and be careful of active ingredients that are not compatible. Indeed, if in the same routine you combine an AHA treatment as well as a retinol beauty product, your skin risks becoming sensitized, which will be counterproductive. For a routine to be effective, follow the concept of less is more.

Peeling and depigmenting treatments: an effective treatment for hyperpigmentation and scars
Peeling is a skin treatment which acts by a chemical phenomenon which eliminates dead skin cells by ensuring that they are no longer attached to each other. It is different from a classic scrub, which acts in a physical way with grains. The peel therefore has a deeper and more effective action, while completely limiting the risk of microlesions. The peel works thanks to a well-known active ingredient: AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) and more particularly glycolic acid.
AHA peeling treatments act on skin spots thanks to their chemical/enzymatic exfoliation. This exfoliation helps eliminate skin cells full of melanin on the surface of the epidermis. As a result, glycolic acid stimulates cell renewal and promotes the production of collagen, two key factors for healthy skin without blemishes or scars.
However, it is important to note that glycolic acid can be irritating, so only use it once or twice a week maximum, and even less often for sensitive skin. Furthermore, this active ingredient is photosensitizing, so it is recommended to do a peel only in the evening, and to apply sunscreen the next day (and every day!).
Our favorite peeling beauty products? The Acid Gold Bybi mask, the organic Peel Hyaluron Intense Madara serum as well as the Oryza Lab Perfecting Peeling lotion.
Specific organic care for the night: the power of cell renewal
When we talk about night care, we are primarily talking about cellular renewal. In fact, it is during the night that the skin regenerates the most. It is therefore crucial to opt for specific organic treatments for the night which will promote this renewal and allow your skin to regain its radiance and freshness.
Among these treatments, we find boosters, numerous organic and natural facial oils as well as a selection of organic facial masks.
Among them, the Nini Organics Moonlight Nectar oil, the Bakuchiol Booster Bybi and the Délice Sang du Dragon Okoko mask.
Focus on the targeted solution against brown sun spots
Exposure to the sun or UV rays can trigger inflammatory reactions and overproduction of melanin, the pigment responsible for the color of our skin.
- UVB rays affect the epidermis, the surface layer of the skin, and can cause the appearance of small brown spots.
- UVA rays, penetrating deeper, can cause deeper wrinkles and spots.
This excessive production of melanin can accumulate in clumps, thus forming pigment spots or sun spots.
As you will have understood, the best solution to avoid sun spots is prevention. Do not expose yourself to UV rays for a long time and wear sun protection daily between May and October.
However, if existing stains are already established, a targeted solution to fade them is based on a suitable skincare routine (see all our tips explained just above), consistency and patience. With this, you will notice visible results within a few months.
Among our different natural mineral facial sunscreens, we recommend the Mineral Drops SPF50 sunscreen (tinted or not) Odacité or the ultra protective organic SPF50 Madara sunscreen. Both prevent the appearance of spots but also help to fade existing ones!
