Tresse Paris Plant coloring

Vegetable coloring is a coloring process based on plant powder mixed with water, quite simply ! Thanks to this technique, the natural pigments of the plants are fixed around the scales of the hair without ever opening them, which then makes it possible to color your hair without attacking them. Conversely, conventional colorings open the scales of the hair to deposit the color there. Consequences ? The hair is weakened and becomes brittle...

The dark shades (from Hazelnut to Intense Black) each contain a coloring sachet + 1 sachet of prepigmenting base to be applied beforehand for optimal results and coverage of white hair. The prepigmenting base must be left on for 1 hour before coloring.

In addition, depending on the nature of your hair, the exposure time for the Hazelnut color may vary: 20 minutes if your hair is fine, 40 minutes if it is thick. This, to obtain a perfect result neither too light nor too dark.

How does Tresse's organic vegetable hair color fortifie and protect the hair : 

Indigo powder strengthens the hair, cleanses the scalp, regulates sebum production and promotes growth. 

Henna powder protects and repairs the hair while providing volume and shine. 

Alma powder regenerates the scalp, promotes growth, and prevents the appearance of white hair. 

Cassia powder protects and improves the blood circulation of the scalp. In addition, it coats and strengthens the hair. 

Neem powder detoxifies and soothes the scalp while regulating excess sebum. 

Shikakai powder softens, strengthens, brings shine and promotes hair growth. 

Rosemary powder strengthens, calms itchy scalp, fights against hair loss.

The application ritual for a soft and natural permanent color : 

1. Wash the hair without applying any conditioner or leave-in then detangle and wring out with a towel. 

2. After putting on your gloves, pour the entire sachet of plant powder into a bowl. Add hot water gradually while mixing with a brush to obtain a smooth and homogeneous paste, neither too liquid nor too dry in order to best facilitate application. 

3. Place a towel over your shoulders so as not to stain the clothes and apply the mixture line by line using a brush from the root to the lengths (about 5 cm from the skull). Then, distribute throughout the hair. Mix the hair to impregnate them well. 

4. Put on the charlotte and leave to act for the exposure time indicated (1 hour in one step or 1 hour + 1 hour 30 minutes if you have white hair). 

5. Rinse thoroughly until clear water is obtained. 

6. Apply a dab of nourishing care, leave on and rinse.

Additional recommendations : 

- Do not use a salad bowl or metal utensil for the preparation of the vegetable coloring. 

- The water used for plant coloring should not be too hot (above 60°, this destroys the indigo pigments).

- The results of a vegetable coloring not being universal, it is preferable to do a test on a strand before applying to the whole of the hair. 

- Don't worry about the rather specific smell of vegetable colorings which fades after 3 to 4 shampoos. 

- It is very important to respect the exposure time for long-lasting color hold. 

- Do not dry the hair at high temperature after coloring. 

- In order to optimize the fixing of the pigments, it is imperative to wait at least 48 hours before the next shampoo and the use of oil-based hair care products.

- Please note, vegetable colorings cannot be used on chemically bleached hair. People who are used to chemical coloring must wait at least 8 weeks between chemical coloring and vegetable coloring.
